Cecilia Ochoa, MAE student and member of the Nebraska Acoustics Group, is the 2026 recipient of the ASA Leo and Gabriella Beranek Scholarship in Architectural Acoustics and Noise Control!
The ASA Leo and Gabriella Beranek Scholarship in Architectural Acoustics and Noise Control is awarded annually to one student nationwide who, through personal qualifications and a proposed research experience, is judged to exhibit the highest potential for performing research benefiting some aspect of the science of sound and promoting its usefulness to society.
This marks the fourth time that a UNL Durham School student has received the Beranek Scholarship in the ten years that the scholarship has been offered—more than any other institution! Previous UNL recipients include Samuel Underwood, Brian Puckett, and Kieren Smith McCord.
Congratulations, Cecilia!
